
Atergatopsis germaini (Germain's Reef Crab)
Species Account
A wide-ranging West Pacific species typically found on coral reefs. Carapace with well-defined regions, without setae, granular along anterolateral margins and submarginally; chelipeds with upper palm smooth, lower palm granular, fingers armed with teeth along entire cutting edge, fingertips blunt; walking legs with a low crest on upper margin. Carapace orange to rusty brown, sometimes with areas of white, chelipeds with black fingers. — John W. Short, 2026
