Cherax crassimanus (Restricted Gilgie)

Species Account

A small species known from the Pemberton region in southwest Western Australia. Anterior carapace with four distinct carinae and occasionally with an indistinct median carina; rostrum slender in distal half, armed with two pairs of spines, rostral carinae curved rather than straight posteriorly; chelae short and stout. Mottled brown and black or brown, grey and black. Length to 71 mm. — John W. Short, 2026
