
Euastacus suttoni (Sutton's Spiny Crayfish)
Species Account
A small, semi-aquatic species restricted to the Lamb Range, northeast Queensland, Australia at altitudes above 800 m. Bellenden Ker Range populations presently assigned to the species are genetically divergent and appear to represent at least one cryptic species. Thorax and abdomen without well-developed spines; carpus (wrist) of cheliped with well-defined groove, inner margin of carpus armed with three spines; teeth along edge of rostrum restricted to distal half. Brown to olive in colour. Length to 80 mm. — John W. Short, 2026
