Euastacus suttoni (Sutton's Spiny Crayfish)
Species Account
A large, semi-aquatic, endemic Australian species occurring along the Great Dividing Range between the Stanthorpe area in southern Queensland and Glen Innes in New South Wales. Found in heath and dry sclerophyll forest streams above 680 m elevation. Body with distinct spines on thorax and abdomen including abdominal segments 2-4; chelipeds with well-defined groove on upper carpus (wrist). Upper body and chelipeds dark grey with patches of reddish-orange, lower body, chelipeds and legs reddish-orange. — John W. Short, 2026
