How do I create My Account?

New accounts are presently restricted to customers. During the checkout process, you will be prompted to either register a new account or login to an existing account. This step must be completed before finalising the purchase. Purchased products are then accessed through “My Account” under “My downloads” or “My purchased publications”.

To access your account, select “My Account” from the main menu or “Login” from the “My Account” submenu. Once you have logged in, the submenu will show the “Account details” and “Logout” options.

Are all publications on the website read-only?

Yes. All of our ePublications and staff eprints are displayed directly on the website using an integrated, read-only viewer. We do not presently offer downloadable PDF publications.

How do I search the database?

The database may be searched by clicking on the website search icon on the main menu. Then enter your search words into the search bar e.g. scientific name, higher taxon (genus, family, superfamily, infraorder, suborder, order, superorder, subclass, class, superclass, subphylum, phylum, kingdom etc.), species common name, family common name, habitat, biogeographic region (e.g. Indo-West Pacific, West Pacific, Australia etc.), place name (collection locality) or download (to find images which may be purchased as downloads). Select from the search results to view a record. NB. the search results will also show any publications on the website which meet the search criteria.

Which database photographs are for sale?

The website search may be used to find which species in the database have high resolution, downloadable images available for purchase. Click on the search icon on the main menu then enter “download” in the search bar. The search results will show all species with downloadable images.

Alternatively, while browsing the database, species with high resolution photographs have the heading “High-resolution downloadable image” following by the full details of the photograph, price and “Add to cart” link. The remaining species show the heading "Image" followed by basic details about the image.

Do you have a newsletter?

Yes, our Mailing List (newsletter) notifies subscribers of new policies, products and promotions by email. You have the option to subscribe to our Mailing List (checkbox selected by default) under "Confirm Your Order" when you first register a customer account at the checkout  You may also subscribe or unsubscribe to the Mailing List at any time within My Account under "My mailing list preference".

What payment methods do you accept?

Payments can be made by either credit or debit card. We use the Stripe Payment Gateway for processing card transactions. Stripe accepts a wide variety of cards including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, China UnionPay (CUP), Japan Credit Bureau (JCB), Discover and Diners Club.
