We are committed to safeguarding the privacy of our customers and website visitors. Our privacy policy adheres to the Australian Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988. These principles govern the way in which we collect, use, disclose, store, secure and dispose of your Personal Information.
2. What Is Personal Information and Why Do We Collect It?
Personal Information is information or an opinion that identifies an individual. We collect Personal Information directly from our customers via the BioAccess Australia website (the "Website"). This mainly occurs when a customer registers a new account at the Checkout. The Personal Information we collect for a customer's account includes company name (optional), name, email address, shipping address (postal address), phone number (optional) and mailing list preference. You will also be required to enter a password when registering your account. To prevent unauthorised access to your customer account you should choose a secure password and keep it safe. Password sharing is not permitted. If you forget your password, it may be reset using the Forgotten Password link on the Account Login page.
The Contact form on the Website also requires you to provide your name and email address. Similarly, to post a review of one of our products you will need to provide a name (an email address is not required). In the latter case, you may choose to use an alias rather than your legal name if you wish.
We also store customer IP addresses, primarily for security/fraud prevention purposes.
For security reasons, we do not collect or store credit/debit card information during the checkout process. All payment processing is handled securely within the Stripe Payment Gateway.
3. Mailing List
When you first register a customer account during the checkout process, you may elect to subscribe or unsubscribe to our Mailing List (for email notifications of policy changes and new products or promotions). By default, the "Subscribe to Mailing List" checkbox is ticked but you may opt out by unticking this checkbox. Alternatively, you may subscribe or unsubscribe at a later stage under "My mailing list preference" in your account.
4. Cookie Usage
To protect your privacy, we use the minimal number of cookies possible. The cookies we use are strictly necessary for the Website to function correctly and securely. We do not use analytics, advertising, marketing, social media, or tracking cookies on this site. For more information on how we use cookies, please refer to our Cookies Policy.
5. Disclosure of Personal Information
The Personal Information we collect is used solely to provide service to our customers. We do not disclose your Personal Information to third parties unless legally required under Australian law or necessary to provide service to our customers e.g. processing of card details within the Stripe Payment Gateway. Stripe may process some of this data on servers located outside Australia (view Stripe's Privacy Policy). We take reasonable steps to ensure that Stripe handles your information in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
6. Security of Personal Information
Your Personal Information is stored in a secured MySQL database on our host's Australian-based servers and protected using appropriate security measures, including access controls and encryption where applicable. All data transmitted between your browser and our website is encrypted using HTTPS (SSL/TLS).
We will retain your Personal Information for as long as your customer account remains active. If you wish to close your account, please send us a request via our Contact form. We will then securely delete or permanently de-identify your Personal Information unless legally required to retain this information for taxation or legal compliance.
7. Access to Your Personal Information
You can access and update your Personal Information at any time by logging in to "My Account" via the main menu and selecting "My personal details" or "Update my address".
8. Consent
By using our Website, creating an account, or submitting a contact form, you consent to the collection and use of your Personal Information as described in this Privacy Policy. You may withdraw your consent at any time by asking to close your account using the Contact form on this website
